Since 1994, The Rochester Orienteering Club has offered The Mendon Trail Run. The Mendon Trail Run raises funds to support the activities of the Club, which is one of the most active Orienteering Clubs in the US (to learn more, or to attend one of our events, see https://roc.us.orienteering.org/).
The trail run features distances of 10K, 20K, 30K and 50K on the east side of beautiful Mendon Ponds Park.
Aid station for 20k, 30k and 50k runners about 3.5 miles into the loop, plus one water stop in the S/F area.
10 km loop course entirely on trails or grassy fields. The course will be marked, turns marked at trail junctions, and traffic cones at the road crossing. The course has many rolling hills. Nearly all of the course is runnable (not particularly technical), although there is one fairly short rocky downhill section where the footing can be a little tricky. Estimated 1000 feet of climb per 10k loop. It should be noted that the total elevation difference between low point and high point on the course is only 150 feet; it should also be noted that the course is essentially never flat! There will be two crossings of park roads per loop. Runners are responsible for their own safety when crossing roads.

Aid station for 20K, 30K and 50K runners at start/finish, plus one water stop about 3.5 miles into loop.
Pacers will be permitted in the 50K only, and only for the last two loops. There is no charge for pacers, but we require that you fill out a waiver. See the registration table for the waiver. There are several rules for pacers, most of which are common in ultras:
- Pacers can't carry supplies for the runner (they can't carry the runner's Camelbak if they have one, for example; they can't carry their water bottle, or food for them, etc.)
- Since we won't be charging for pacers, pacers are not allowed to take supplies for himself/herself at the aid stations.
- The pacer can't run through the finish line with the runner, either at the end of the race or when finishing a lap.
- The pacer must arrive at the aid station with the runner or after the runner, and must leave the aid station with the runner or before the runner. So the pacer can't race ahead and be filling the runner's water bottle, rounding up food items, etc., or linger after the runner has left the aid station.
Refunds: Full refund minus 20% administration fee up to October 11. No refunds after that date.
