Course Notes!

All points are marked with an orange streamer with the control number on it. You are supposed to get within a couple of feet of the streamer, no touching is necessary. We debated about setting out flags but decided that the woods are so open that visibility would take away most of the challenge and be more likely to be tampered with by other park users.

These courses will take you to some of the most memorable parts of the park. With the golf course open, and strictly OFF LIMITS, designing courses presented some real challenges. Mountain bikers have added a couple of new trails and the wind has contributed to several new rootstocks but other than that the park remains relatively unchanged. We were, however, able to find a few points that haven’t been used before, or at least not for a long time.

The climb is a little steep compared to our other parks so look for the routes that avoid the steepest ups and downs. Please do not be tempted to cut across the golf course, we want to keep a good relationship with the parks people. If you are in an area close to the golf course please be aware of golfers and avoid disturbing their game.

The long course takes runners along Lakeshore Boulevard for a short distance but does not cross the road. Be aware of the traffic on all park roads.

The lake is warm so plan to go for a swim after you finish your run. Hope you enjoy the course!
